What if I do not have a friend to join with?
How many other single people are thinking the same thing? 70% join on their own, and go on to make
many new friends through Tae Kwon-Do. We are not only a martial arts club but we hold many social events
throughout the year.
Am I too old to start?
There is no age limit for Tae Kwon-Do.
What if I am unfit?
All the more reason to join! We build beginners’ fitness up gradually, depending on age and ability.
You will be surprised how much fitter you will be after just 6 months.
What if I am shy?
Tae Kwon-Do builds confidence; beginners’ classes are structured so that no-one feels embarrassed or
incapable. All beginners train together on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
What do I need to wear when I start?
As a beginner you can wear a tracksuit, loose clothing, trainers.
I want to get my black belt as quickly as possible!
It takes a minimum three and a half years training to get to black belt 1st Dan.
Your instructor will tell when you are ready to grade.
How do I progress through the ranks of Tae Kwon-Do?
There is a high standard at Lutterworth Tae Kwon-Do and the instructor, Jim McKenzie,
will put a student forward for a grading only if the student has reached the required standard.
The belts of Tae Kwon-Do are listed below together with the minimum training times required before a student can progress onto the next belt.

What does a typical training involve?
Sessions always begin with a warm up (typically 10 to 15 minutes long) and will then include elements from the list below:
